Ozzie and Harriet - The Gay Blade

"The Gay Blade" is a new kind of knife sharpener, which Harriet bought, and she expects Ozzie to figure out how to correctly assemble its numerous parts. Original Air Date: 9 December 1955 - Season 4, Episode 11 - NOTE: This is an historic episode in that it features Lyle Talbot and Mary Jane Croft together as a couple for the first time on the show. However, they were not Joe and Clara Randolph. Instead, they were Harvey and Marian Burnett, and they had different voices and personalities than they did a year later when they were cast as longtime series' regulars Joe and Clara Randolph. Mary Tyler Moore appears at the end of the show as Happy Hotpoint, a tiny dancing elf in a Hotpoint appliance commercial. David Nelson doesn't appear in this episode. Don DeFore appears as Thorny.
