hmmm i wonder if there was a skinny robot, with vertical stripes on the paintjob, bald head, license plate on one forearm, who seemed to only care about money running around with optimus prime...hmmmm I wonder if anyone would be offended. You could then run the same video afterwards. I agree to an extent but...some things just aren't funny to some people.

Maybe your not racist kid, but you are pretty foolish.
Im a black american. I like watching the supranoes. However, there are fellow Italion-American who find that show to be very offensive to their people. I recall that Italion americans did a massive march and protest against some of the episodes that were aired.
I didn't see what the problem was, but hey since im not Italian American, I DID NOT challenge them on it cause I do not share their history and experiences.
It wasn't my place!

the media does to portray people of a certain group begin to add up over time, and can/have drastically shaped the ideals of people in the entire country. That's the whole reason stereotypes exist. It's like... people can laugh about them until they have to deal with the other side of the stick.

as well as every newspaper, book, song, etc. Maybe this dosen't seem that big to you. But where I live, out in the middle of nowhere TX, I've run into a few people who live so far out in the country that they've never seen african americans before... except for reading about them in books, hearing about them on the radio, or seeing them in movies. A guy I know came to college using the word "nigger" because he thought it was a friendly greeting among blacks... so the "small" things that

One movie or one joke is not going to drastically impact the way the country views african americans. However, you get enough of the same things replayed, and you have an image of what that gender/race/minority is supposed to be like. That's just "social math." In the same aspect, one ant is harmless, and to say it is a threat is, like you said, far fetched. But add up every movie that has done this to african americans in the US

No. You're just high.
Negative stereotypes of black people have greatly influenced how white america views them.
That's not me shooting the breeze.
There's a great deal of sociological evidence to confirm this.

Why did they need gold teeth and big lips if the creators weren't trying to send some obvious 'human' overtones through?
And yes...THIS image, and THIS culture.
No we aren't smarter than that by now.

Of course they were trying to send human overtones through, to make the film more enjoyable. These robots downloaded their personalities from the internet.
As to the last part of ur comment, I simply disagree. I think the fact that our nation hasnt collapsed yet is substantial evidence that smart people r not outnumbered by stupid ppl.

Why does it matter?
Because how you view someone influences greatly how you treat them...duh.
And you can disagree all you want, the FACT is that racism is still very prevalent, and form modern racism takes is very subversive---like the stereotypes in movies like this---and that most people are alright with it.

That's because a small group of smart people run it....not because they outnumber dumb people.
