FSX ILS Tutorial 747 Part2

Part two of two of my Autopilot tutorial how to use ILS in the default FSX 747. No cutting or editing you will see from start to finnish how the auto pilot can be used to help with an approach. This information is ONLY helpful in the default 747 and all its quirkyness. It is also not meant to teach you how to fly the way you are supposed to fly.. ONLY to get this aircraft to do what you want it to do. @MrXfort i dont believe i used nav in this video... did you watch both? i was mostly just the mechanics of the ils and giving an easy way to use and understand it at least well enough to play with it and get some landings in.. refining and being correct is up to you guys!

Good stuff. I learned a lot, but it would be cool if you went a little more in-depth on a few things. Its a real-time flight so you've got the time. For example, why am I pushing the Z key to turn on auto-pilot, and not pressing a button in the cockpit? and why is the pink rectangle that represents the runway on the NAV/GPS thing on the wrong side before it switches over?

@AnimeNanashi The runway is represented on the wrong side because the same ils frequency is used for both aposing runways. In this case 109.5 is used for both rwy 01 and 19. So when we took off the ils thought we were trying to land on rwy 01 until we turned around and flew past the midpoint of the runway. Hope that helps!

@AnimeNanashi Hi the z key doesnt function in the fsx default 747 and the z key is the key microsoft mapped to be the autopilot engage/disengage key. if you go to controls/keys you can see what keys are mapped for what function and if you have a programable joystick you can even assighn a function to a button on the joystick.

Very useful! Thanks but could you make a tutorial showing how to set your course and everything on a long distance flight? so from point A to point B? How you set runway heading and things like that!

Full flaps at 300 knots? :D Not a good way for reducing speed i think. Nice video for explaining ils.

if i wanted, could i just set a flight plan up, and when i get close to my approach could i engage auto pilot, flight director, and approach hold? and it would line me up to the run way for me???

@marcsoldaat You need to use the ruder control. Most joysticks have them built in; however I'm not too sure what the keyboard setting is.

Yes, well I do have a question. How do you steer while taxiing?

Good video, just the flap settings were wrong, you cant use full flaps at 210 knot.. how you get the voice of "500... 400.... 50..40.." and so on?

also the shaking of plane at touchdown was so realistic, my fsx does not do this, how you got it? thanks
