But they still messed up! When the clock operator first stopped the clock, there was 1:46 left. Then while the refs were conferring with each other, and the game stopped, the clock operator ran another 10 seconds off the clock. The 12 seconds should apply to 1:46 not 1:36. Of course either way the Jets were going to win.

Hochuli is the best ref in the league. When he screws up, he's man enough to admit it. So many refs run from their errors or try to find ways to defend a blatant bad call, and it's a shame that this guy got a lot of flak the year he screwed up, but it's good to see him still being as clear and articulate as possible on why he makes his decisions.

@MCOneMan I agree. He's by far the best ref in the NFL (we see too much of that Alberto Riveron). I think some of Hochuli's explanations are a bit long-winded though.
