@goodtimesparta I saw Reed in concert around 1986 and he did this song. Jerry was a great story teller and he did an intro to the song where he described how Croce had become a fan of his guitar playing and came into the studio to meet him. He described Croce as a guitar nut. Both were gifted guitarists, song writers, and performers. I emailed Croce's widow 5 or 6 years ago and she confirmed that Jim Croce was indeed a Jerry Reed fan. I'd say Jerry was a fan of his also.

I never knew Jerry did this Croce song. Its always been a favorite, and with the Guitar Man playing it, there is no way I couldnt like it.
