Here is a list of some of the log cabin building tools you might need:

chainsaw, scribe, drawknife, hudson bay ax, peavey, come-along, hand winch, chainsaw file and guide, approved gas can, funnel, file or stone for ax, steel tapes, hammer, sledge hammer, steel square, chalkbox, line, chalk, string line and line level, level, firmer socket chisel, bit and brace, power drill, bits, augers, crosscut handsaw, ripsaw, chainsaw tool, plastic wedges, safety clothing, helmet, eye and ear protection, haddon lumber maker

Here are some optional log cabin building tools:

broadax, slick, log dogs, adz, block and tackle, disc sander, bark spud, granberg file-n-joint, alaskan mk III chainsaw mill

  • All you did here was copy word for word out of the book "Building the Alaska Log Cabin". As such you need to give credit to the author, Tom Walker, for actually being knowledgeable and skilled in this craft.

    Good Luck with the homestead. Keep in mind that while Alaska is colored green on the map, much of that woodland is Black Spruce which is unsuitable for building.

  • I am start thinking to go for small jobs.to get an idea about log joints.Only trouble is, NO chainsaw in forestry.salt and safety reason. I think it good for skill,knowledge.

    I think you did show all the tools that will do me fine at get go. I will manage simple scribe my self.But I need to bay same kind of axe and handsaw.
