Climbing Tools: Self Rescue: Two Prussiks

Hi,
I prefer the bottom prussik as loop for my foot.
Big advantage: pushing up the harness-prussik is easy, because the rope is held down by my foot. Pushing up the foot prussik is easy as well, because I can sit in my harness and use BOTH hands :-)
I tried both ways and I really think, that this is the easier way!
Do You think different? Please tell me why- may I have overseen something.......
Have a nice climb!

Hi Mike, normally, how long is the accessory cord needed to be for each prussik in this setup?
-
But why do you prefer to use the upper prusik as foot-loop? because it's harder?
-
I just saw Wolfmamaguckn's post after I made mind. I hate repeating someone else's question.
-
So because of how hard it is to move the harness Prussik up, wouldn't it be better to put the foot-Prussic below? That way, your weight on it will be the resistance you'd need to easier move the upper-harness-Prussic?
Keep in mind I have NO climbing or rope-experience, so I really don't know any better.

@maxinpains If you're that mentally challenged, nobody should be selling you guns in the first place

Nah. I 've never read Mein whoever that is. Your post contains threats. I live in South Central L.A.
I've got used to that kind of lines you used to threat someone. In Lowkey, I've heard that million times...lol
My daily basis answer was "Freeze,....I'll Shoot." at work. 7 out of 100 comes back & do something but that's depend on the seasons...I welcomed them & sprayed with AK. I used to loved to see while they tried to doge the bulletss but too slow & becomes hives of bee's nest.

Stop reading Mein Kampf. I'm not liable if some random fat guy on the street punches you breaks all the bones in your face. Now go back to your little shack and go and ask your favorite dictator whether you have permission to use the Internet

Any way to attatch a double figure eight to the bottom prussik? pull arms up, hold on, scoot the bottom prussik with your feet, lather rinse repeat.

The knots are great but a jumar is so much nicer IMO
Thank you for teaching all this good stuff mike. can you use a grigri as a backup and one or two prussiks for the legs instead?

You most certianly can, just that we seldom carry Gri GRi's in the big mountains where this system would most likely be employed

Always good stuff from Mike/Joe.
If I am carrying a pack I tend to take it off and hang it onto the end of the rope.
That way the rope is held taught and the lower prussik slides up more easily, AND I don't have the weight of the pack trying to invert me the whole way up. When I get topside I just haul up the pack.
Keep the great videos coming!!
