@ohhitsamelia i'm pretty sure that it's compatible with .avi stuff, but i'm not a hundred percent sure, because i usually use .mp4 videos. there's a 90% chance that it is able to use .avi, so your best bet is to ask on yahoo!answers, to get an exact answer, or go to the website, because i don't want to tell you that it takes .avi files, and be wrong. ):

how do you create these video effects? im really curious because i've got windows movie maker but i can't do these effects. do i have to install another movie maker programme or something?

i use sony vegas pro 8.0. i'm not sure how to do effects on windows movie maker, so you're best bet would be to find a downloadable version of SVP 8.0.
