  • (continued... Sensitive touch screen:) .. In my eyes, Final Cut & Amused to Death are genius. Timeless classics in my opinion..

  • @ Lugh -- to each his own. I love all stages of the Floyd story & in my eyes, Am

  • this is too damn amazing!

  • @headintheshedable Have you seen any of the live performances from Pulse? I think the rendition of Shine On You Crazy Diamond is better than the studio version, in which Waters sang. Gilmour's voice sounds, to me, no different from forty years ago. But personally I wish Wright had sung more. "Stay" from Obscured By Clouds is fantastic.

Have you listened to "The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking"? I laughed out loud at parts. "And she put him to bed between two bits of... bread."

  • @headintheshedable Haha I'm sorry. I just find it very surprising that of the two main singers, Waters and Gilmour, it's the latter that is being criticized! No worries, I just love Gilmour's voice, and can't stand that of Waters' in all but a few songs.

I don't know if Momentary Lapse and Division Bell are better or worse than Amused to Death (haven't listened to Amused to Death much), but they're DEFINITELY better than The Final Cut. I can't stand that album.

  • @lughlongarm76 Im not getting anything mixed up and dont call me Dude!

My original comment was "This is when Gilmour could still sing" The album I was refering to was recorded 30 years ago, "Breathe in the Air" was recorded nearly 40 years ago. In my opinion Gilmour doesnt sing as well now as he did then.

My comment about Amused to Death is refering to the fact a lot of Floyd fans think Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell are better than Amused to Death. I dont.

  • @headintheshedable Dude... Waters has a whiny, almost nasally voice. Amused to Death is Waters. Are you getting the two mixed up? Gilmour's voice is absolutely beautiful. Have you heard "Breathe In the Air," man?

  • @NAAMxLOOS Thats your opinion, we must have different hearing ranges!

No doubt you also regard Gilmours two Floyd albums as being better than Amused to Death.

  • @headintheshedable Gilmour still sings amazing. Waters sings like shit currently.
