Does it matter? Maybe TOMS was such a great influence to them that it helped contribute to the foundation of creating this organization. Regardless, all that should matter is the difference being made in these individuals' lives and in their community over the span of time that the organization has been around and even prior. I would rather people "copy" other groups that work to help people rather than to not do anything in fear of being labeled as a "copycat," wouldn't you?

...They didn't copy TOMS at all...and even if they did, is it bad that more people are helping people in need?

@matt713 The one good thing that comes from helping African women is stopping overpopulation. Although I do agree that we shouldn't necessarily be world police, we should all do a little part to help all humans. The extra money they earn goes to education which in turn leads to having less children which is better for humanity as a whole. Especially since most of these women are having 5+ kids each.

Before this is read, Everyone is entitled to there own opinion, to each there-own. Here in America, we have a government that helps out our poor and sick. We have things like Financial Aid, Food-stamps, Medicare & Medicaid, things like that. Over in Africa they do not have things like what we American's have. It's up to us to help these people. Don't hate on an organization that is here to help those in need, hate the people who do NOTHING to help anyone, but themselves. Thanks. -Kyra

@MichellesMusic92 Wow, really?!? Ripping on these guys because they "copied" Toms? It would be fantastic if there were a million organizations like this. It's people helping people!

The guys at krochet kids noticed that just giving people in poverty things makes them dependent on other people giving them things. So instead of just getting things, these women are actually working for their wages and learning about finances and business so that they can take care of their family and neighborhood. So instead of just giving them hats, they are earning a living :)
