Subsim Meet 2009 - U-995 Visit

First order of business (after breakfast), go to Laboe (Schlesswig-Holstein, Germany) and visit the Type VIIC/41 U-995 and the U-Boot Memorial with the SubSim bunch. We cross into Germany via Ferry, but, most of the time it's all just riding the van. That little van, in which hell would break loose if Neal had ordered all hands to go to the bow, held us for the several hours of the going and coming travel. I made the away travel in the van (at daylight), though, for reasons I can't remember after 5 months of the meet, I had to switch places and go in Lurchi's car (quite nice car, BTW) for the coming back travel (at night).

Forgive my "speed" while recording aboard the sub, but we were all so freaking amazed by being there, enjoying ourselves, like little children that got a new toy, that I couldn't really stop for picturing specific details.

Credits to Neal for the pic in the Diesels where I come with the cam at hand from the Maate quarters rambling through the room just as they were striking the pose, and therefore ruining the photo, lol.
