I was also thinking that ultrasonic might be more reliable in dark conditions, or with odd gradients of the surface texture. Though, the Mindstorms site advises against using two ultrasonic, as they would interfere with each other, possibly.

Wow! It is so good. Could you tell me some advise about the NXTway DS? Because I face obstacles about the program(by NXT-G) and sensors. I guess tht sensors can not catch up the motor's actions. Thank you.

That's very awesome, how come two light sensors and not two ultrasonic? I wouldn't think the light gradient would be good enough/fast enough to pull that off.
