From Jason's drum site www.nufusions.com, Jason shows a different Drum'n'Bass pattern to go along with the lessons. This pattern is shown at half speed and then full speed.

To access the free drum lessons, all they ask is to register with your email address and give them a little information about yourself. Don't worry, there's no catch! This is so they can keep in touch with you to let you know about any additions and updates to Nu-fusions. Your information will NOT be shared or passed on to anyone else.

  • Wish the videocam was recording on a setting which didn't skip frames the way this does. It's hard to see what the limbs are doing precisely.

I have a camera with that function, it's got a running man icon to let you know to use it for sports/action but I never do.

    Great beats.

  • The cam used here is just a webcam, but I agree it could do with better quality.

  • what size toms are they?

  • 16x16 floor tom, pinstripe head on top, ambassador head on bottom, both clear. Similar setup for the 12x9 rack tom, both heads tuned to same pitch, sometimes the bottom head is tuned a little higher. This was his Pearl kit and he used Remo skins.

  • fuckin happy days mint to see it live rather than a computer program.

  • I guess the answer is... working and taking your time ;) Start slowly, very slowly at first (50 or 60), and try to make it groove, marking every accent etc... When you feel comfortable at 50, try at 60, then 70 then 80 etc... Increase the speed gradually, and you'll find it sooooo easy in the end : it's coming almost naturally. And when I say take your time, I don't mean 5 minutes at 50, then try at 80. Better make it 30 minutes for a couple days...

  • Its soooooo hard keepin' up that tempo for a long time. How long can you keep it?

  • Would you please message me the sticking to this? I would be very greatful.

  • I look forward to more examples in this style, if possible.

I've been a huge fan of listening to and performing it, so this just broadens my repertoire. Thanks for sharing the great ideas.

    Cheers!

  • In this video, Sonor Delite 10"x8", 12"x9" and 14"x14" floor tom. Clear Ambassadors top and bottom.

  • jason bowld has made me never want to drum... ill never be a millionth of that!
