  • You are correct it nots a bacterium but a parasitic protozoa. The key issue with it is it forms a spore stage which is resistant to chlorination which is used to disinfect water. So if there is contamination of the water or poor filtration with only chlorination present, the cyst can remain active.

  • Ever wanted to know what cryptospoidium is? It's not a bacteria (ium) but an outbreak can make you sick.
