1956 Dehavilland DHC-2 Beaver taking off from Santa Monica Airport Rwy21. Given its size, the ground roll to the airborne is amazingly short. No wonder DHC-2 is still the best bush airplane, and most of them are still in active duties.

  • @flyboy8492 Gatta love beaver. I prefer them without carpet personally.

  • @gammafan Darn right, never been on wheels, just floats and skiis...

  • Harrison Fords favorite plane (of the ones he owns).

  • The Beaver's not the only plane w/ a short TO roll! See nztQ1Ar8JRg

  • That airplane is now in Notodden, Norway (ENNO) - saw it there the other day. Beautiful machine, and spotless engine - quite unlike other radials. Not had a chance to go for a ride in it tho...

  • @Apollo580 From what I've read, a company in Victoria BC actually makes these again

  • Really wish the still made these. I would go nuts over having one. :(

  • cool plane!
