  • This is the Canadian commercial that Saudi tyrants are trying to ban here on Canadian soil. They are trying to export shariah here to squelch our free speech. Google "Alms for Jihad" and see how the Saudi regime used the same Lawfare threat to scare a British publisher into recalling and destroying all copies of the book. 21st century book burning a la House of Saud.

  • Ethical oil is still 'Dirty oil'...Canadians are supposed to smarter than this...at least i think we should be.

  • @Physcojoe And... with all that being said, if your boycotting oil sands over other opportunities... that just doesn't make sense to me; and this add in my opinion points out one of several obvious reasons why... Not to mention scientifically speaking a solution to problems around the energy efficiency of producing from the oil sands... it sounds to me like the kind of research that would lend it self to alternative energy development.

  • @sylvanwilliams1 I apologize, perhaps I was unfair. I suppose it just upsets me when shutting down the oil sands is seen as some "first step" to becoming a sustainable balance with our environment; as far as I'm concerned humanity has no current viable alternative to oil, and we really need to start looking for one, but quitting oil cold turkey is not the answer. I would love alberta to investin and become a leader in alternative energy, use oil to furhter us technologically.

  • @Physcojoe I respect your differing positions. I understand where you are coming from but i think you might be missing the key point here. My problem is with the 'misdirection' a foolish concept like 'Ethical Oil' implies.

Look past our societies obvious dependence on oil, to see that this is just weak attempt to justify oil dependence for record profits in the oil sands. The problem here is that it wrong to destroy our fragile ecosystem for jobs or profit.

  • @Hoffmansk Unless you live 100% off the grid you still use electricity, likely generated by coal burning power plants. You didn't mention your stance on nuclear power so I won't assume you oppose it as a transitional support moving from oil dependant energy. My POINT was that we can't stop using oil cold turkey, and that 99% of the idiots who oppose the oil sands think we can, and don't realize their utter dependance on it as an energy source.

  • @Hoffmansk I do enjoy immensley that you assumed so much about me, but I'm happy to inform you that no apologies are in order since you only made yourself look like an ass, not me. I happen to commute with a full car to work, and as soon as the train in my area is completed I will be taking that; so… well there goes your argument. My point – which has unfortunatley eluded you – was that we can’t just shut off the valve and stop using oil tomorrow.

  • @Physcojoe You don't have to excuse yourself for being an elementary school dropout hypocrite. Obviously NOBODY taught you how to think and act responsible as an adult. BTW, i ride by bike everyday to work and my power supplies are made from solar, wind and water power. And yes people like you are just as responsible for destroying the planet and the future of our children, as corporate IS !!! Don't give up, educate yourself and start act like a responsible human being.

  • @JERRYNEVILLE1 Am i glad to know people with educational degrees, or else i'd have to believe ALL mankind is as uneducated as U. Why don't U just take a swig of mercury and let it be, since your opinion is OBVIOUSLY, that poison is good for people, animals and the environment.. keep it up. Thanks

  • @xluuuluuux Innocent blood is no more on my hands than yours; what an outlandish claim to make. I opposed both wars and the world community as a whole opposed the invasion of Iraq because they saw the shitstorm that we're in now coming. If you think that the Saudi's are some sort of bastion of freedom and righteousness you’re an idiot, and you’re probably a bigot. My conscience is clear, and you need to lay off the crazy.

  • @Physcojoe .You want to tell me that your counrty

did not join in those crimes ! You have the blood of

the innocent Iraqies & Afghanies on your hands as well .

  • @xluuuluuux I think you have us confused with the country south of us.
