Elvis Presley Cant Help Falling In Love
Written by George Weiss, Hugo Peretti, and Luigi Creatore for Elviss film Blue Hawaii. The song is based on the classical French composition Plaisir dAmour by Giovanni Martini (1741-1816). Elvis recorded is March 23, 1961 at Radio Recorders. Take #29 was released as the single. The single had a 14-week stay on Billboards Hot 100 chart, peaking at #2. It was #1 on the Easy Listening chart for 6 weeks, and it was #1 in England for 4 weeks. It was the A-side to Rock-a-Hula Baby. This song would be a standard in Elviss concerts. This song is available on Artist of the Century, the Blue Hawaii soundtrack, Command Performances-The Essential 60s Masters II, Elvis 30#1 Hits, Heart and Soul, The Very Best of Love, and The 50s Greatest Love Songs, which is where this version is from. T

Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you

Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand,
Take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you

Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand
Take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you
For I can't help falling in love with you

  • My daughter is ten years old and she loves the king.

  • My ex-boyfriend played and sang this song to me... Everytime I hear this song, I cry...It brings me a lot of memories... I really love this song but somehow I hate it. It is a real masterpiece!!!

  • He looked SOOO much like my grandpa!

  • Elvis>UB40

  • @Koruptify I did and she loved it!

  • @pietsafriet I have a gift. I can sing and I'm learning how to play the piano. I love music, especially Elvis.

  • @RoboPeach Thank you. She loved it.

  • @Chapol99 Thank you!!! I sang it to her and she cried...She's the first woman I've really fallen in love with. Our first date was bonding at a 50s restaurant and this song came on. We both screamed at the same time, "I LOVE THIS SONG!"

  • this is the greatest song of all time ever

  • @kayleighcolfer It is a good idea if she loves this song. It doesn't matter if you are gay, straight, or bi. It is beautiful poetry and if you feel it, and truly put all the emotion in it, there is nothing better.
