But you gotta remember, think of it the other way around too, people try to sing songs in japanese as well for example and think it sounds awesome and probabally don't realize they have an accent too :)

and actually i have started speaking another language besides english
but because of the whole language barrier... :/

I honestly think that accent can never ruin any song... it can make it different if anything.
I respect people who can speak fluently more than one language.... but that's probably cause I do speak more than one... you should try it.
