I just had the tremendous honor of meeting Ms. Moreno, after adoring her all of my life from her role as Anita. What a lovely, gracious, friendly, and electric woman! At age 77 - she looks and acts just stunning.

@SarBear4Ryan Betty Wand, I think.

@kiwi31588 It is Betty Wand who is singing for Rita Moreno, (Rita only sang "America" in the movie). She also sang for Leslie Caron in Gigi. Marni Nixon also sang for Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady and Deborah Kerr in The King and I and made her only on screen appearance as Sister Sophia in the Sound of Music.

@kiwi31588 I thought it sounded like her a bit. Not bad with the accents! Loved her voice in My Fair Lady! But I haven't seen The King and I since I was young.

Okay.
I love Glee but this is the second time Iv'e seen something about glee on a West Side Story video. West Side Story was first. West Side Story was the whole thing, not just a few songs. If you actually are into musical theatre then you would have been brought here by your love of musicals. Not Glee.

wow that gurl can sing really high!
-
oh i cannot wait till santana (naya rivera) sings this on glee!!
-
Tee hee, Naya Rivera (Santana as Anita) and Lea Michele (Rachel as Maria) will sing this in Glee.
-
How come white people can play hispanic or black but they can't do likewise

Anita's an awesome singer :)

"I Have a Love" has to be one of the touching and beautiful songs ever written. i had the privilege of seeing the movie on a junior high class trip too long ago to mention. I was riveted by the singing and dancing , the colorful costumes, the aerial shots of NYC. And the story deeply moved and grieved each one of our teenage hearts. West Side Story certainly deserved the Oscar for best picture and soundtrack. Lennie Bernstein is an awesome talent as was choreorgrapher Jerome Robbins.
Just a minor correction to the video. The acting for Maria is Natalie Wood, but the singing is actually Marni Nixon. She was never credited for this, but she also sang for Deborah Kerr in The King and I.

I did know that actually :D But thanks. Marni Nixon also sang for Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. She has a terrific voice.
Apparantly (according to my DVD) Rita Moreno was also dubbed for this particular song...Im not sure who by.
