I think that judges, when not overburdened with other cases, like to hear people defend themselves as long as its relevant and pertinent.

$200 dollars is not a just fine. If you lived check to check like a vast amount of people do, this fine could cause one to be evicted. Estimate $1 an hour, $20 seems like a stiff penalty. I would bet the majority of this fine are fees. The reason is majority feels as I do and would not vote to increase fines. So the city impose fees to upward of 6 or 7 times the fine.

The lady clearly doesn't have the intellectual authority or moral authority to complain, since she doesn't even know she is the plaintiff. This is why cops need to have more than a room temperature IQ. The prosecutor is especially dim-witted. Nice system guys!

The primary goal of the police is to enforce laws, which includes, but is not limited to protecting and serving the public's safety. Also, I hardly see how enforcing a parking restriction is aggressive government.
