Want to cement render a wall but not sure how to do it? this clip shows you how using sand, cement and water, I dont use pre-mixed material and just add water this is how it should be done in my view, In the video I will be using a four to one measurments or in other words four shovels of sand to one shovel of cement powder 100kgs sand 25kgs cement powder, NO STONES each job that requires cement needs diferent meaurments for my job here it is used to render a wall in this garden but if you are using the material for brick laying you would have a 3 to 1 mix, I should say that you should never mix on a road as you will be in trouble from the municipality as it will stain the tarmac but here every one does it and cleans up after,
If it is your first time doing this job you might need some help taking turns as mixing on your own even a small amount like this will hurt your back by the evening so take turns and take your time, The main mixing is at the begining when the sand and cement are dry you will see a change of colour from red and grey to only grey and is done by making small piles, adding water is only to wet the material but this is a heavy job,
instructions are in the clip of what I am doing and some tips,
you could ask a builder to do the job for you who may employ a labourer to do the mixing but if you have the time and tools do have a go yourself it can be fun you will need a flat shovel a bucket, a wet wheelbarrow and a trowel, in the clip i dont show how i clean up but i do think it is a very important step of the job when a few hours have passed do the twist dance on all of the areas where you mixed this will crumble any spots into dust which can then be swepted up, do not use water as this will stain a larger area, then in the evening weep one last time OH that is if your not going to use 8'x 4' hard boards or thick plastic sheets you would clean them in the same way, be very sure you mix enough to do the job you are doing as if you should make to much you could be left with a hard problem to take to the local dumping ground,
render a wall, lay a drive way, fill in a small hole, fill in a large hole, fixing roof ridge tiles, fixing a chimney, making a window orniment design, laying floor tiles, laying wall tiles, cement grouting, making a path, this is not a new way to mix cement privacy fence straw bales concrete police not the fastest way to mix cement stop concrete mixer truck getting ready to mix cement not using a cement mixer pissed up in the mix music mix new mix dj the muddy little dozer big rig hauling cement mix flips papercrete sheetcrete 1971 vw beatle concrete

  • how long do you need to wait until it is safe for rain to get on your newly rendered wall? (in our case, we rendered in the morning, and it started raining in the evening, will we notice the damage straight away, or could it affect it in the future?)

  • @mcb0613

if your render is on the ground and it rains in the evening on a hot snny day there will be no damage it would help to slow the rying process down and stop any cracking but if it is a cold day you could be left with and orange peal effect, hope the rain does not come down to hard

  • that is not how to render a wall, that is having a go at rendering a wall, your half way there, but you aint scratch coated it,theres no waterproofer or feb mix and you havent got a hwk or trowel at least try and put it up the wall with the float ,you might aswell have thrown it at the wall with the shovel

  • @gibtheyid

hi buddy yes you are correct for any other people who are watching febmix is a great idea depending on the climate of the country you do the job in, these video clips are never perfect or application differs with countries and climate as i am sure you know working in the trade, i am showing how it is done in the country am working in here

thank you for watching buddy and for your input

  • same for internal?

  • @dfcvda

in hot countries yes, you could use a sealant in the mix or paint a sealant on the wall before you begin
