Indian music requires rigorous practise from an early age to even master a fraction of it. It can take a lifetime to master a handful of ragas with all their nuances. The music is also a couple of thousand or more years old when hippies were no whare to be seen. The only people capable of understanding and learning it, regardless of whether they're Western or Indian, are those who are highly pitch sensitive. They're also plenty of pitch deaf people in India who can't hear the notes.

this has nothing to do with hippies NOTHING AT ALL. So why are we even mentioning it? Yes there are hippies that want some cultural meaning to their lives so they decide to become hindu and buy a sitar but honestly they make their own videos so go spread all the biult up hate there.

@aresx666 Unfortunately, Their way to a world of peace was through drugs. Woodstock was the HQ. Only way to have world peace is if the whole world is completely satisfied. Never going to happen.

In the video description it says "a raga is a sitar piece of music". How the fuck hard can it be to explain what a raga is, if you are an Indian-classical musicain, without elementary errors like that!?

I think she is saying "raag" where the subtitles say "rod".

@Shisha67 um, no they weren't. they were people who wanted to change the corrupted world that they saw into something that they knew it could be. A world of peace.

Hippies were rich whiny kids from the 60's. This is someone who appreciates the music and cultures around the world and made the effort to learn it.
