This awning is great for providing shade anywhere on the work site, and possibly for some tailgating activities. Aside from those two, you could possibly use it in some sporting events, if you have to sell tickets or stuff like that, it's great little place to do it under. Now we'll show you how it works. To extend the awning, there's a hand crank that you install onto the drivers side of the truck and it goes in there you twist it and pull it down. It then falls into place and you can unfold the awning. To extend this what you do is extend it out to about a foot and a half to two feet, and then we drop down the legs. If you do this on concrete or other slick surfaces, you may want an extra set of hands since the feet could slide on the bottom. If you were on the dirt the feet wouldn't go anywhere. The legs simply pop out and come down.

Initially just put them down into an arbitrary length and then there's a latch on the inside that you can flip up and hold in place. Once you have the legs extended, just put them out and they will arch over so far and then reset them so the awning can go out to its full length. As you can see this unit consists of aluminum, cast aluminum, and heavy duty plastic. Also you're not limited to this height, the legs can make it go higher depending on the way you want it. Now I'll show you how to collapse it, which is a reverse procedure from before. You may want to move the legs in a bit, then crank it in. Again when you get in close, fold up the legs which have their own spring clip that holds it into place. Now we just crank it into place. There you have it for part # TH326, the Thule professional series awning.
