@unholyftw There is a HUGE difference between natural background radiation and the radiation from Cesium-137 and 134. The ground levels before the "event" on March 11th was 0.44µSv/h. Please do not spread misinformation, the radiation here is not the safer naturally occurring background radiation. The radiation here is from nuclear fission, man made cesium-137 and 134!

@snakefood2k1 no it can not, and even though it has been calibrated and professionally tested it is still not a precise way to measure, the ground is actually much more radioactive than that reading. I got the test results back from the 2 different labs that I sent soil samples to, and it was found to be much higher. 23,663 Bq/Kg of Cesium-134 and 28,884 Bq/Kg of Cesium-137

KILL NUKE POWER BEFORE IT KILLS US ALL

do you know whats cuasing that radiatione i thought maybe that was a power box right there that was admiting it
-
Gtfo that place is fucked up. Where can you buy that radiation check thing
-
from how much it will be considered a dangerous level of radiation ?
-
holy shit dude its so peaceful over there but yet dangerous :0

@energyalt56 5.58 micro sieverts per hour can not cause cancer but it will definitely increase the risk of getting cancer. People are not just going to drop dead from this now but in 10 years or so the cancer rate will increase as a result.
In the USA the average individual background radiation dose is 0.34 μSv/h.
The concentration of this material is mostly radioactive caesium 137, this materials has a half life of 30.17 years.

well if I were you, I would gtfo of japan unless I 'HAVE' to be there

is accident?
so it's underground??

@yuonishii Its ON the ground, the cesium has fully bonded with the cement and metal surfaces, its not going anywhere. I invite anyone and everyone with a geiger counter to come to Kashiwa and see for themselves.

@godawgs305 Well, your not planning on taking a side excursion up to the Fukushima area were you? If not then ya, you should be just fine.
