You have no idea on the number of false cases filed under IPC 498A (anti-dowry law). Never mind that the law is full of loopholes, but 98% of cases reported annually are FALSE. NRI's are specifically targeted for extortion by imprisoning their family members and holding them for "ransom."
There are women who are genuinely abused, whose cause is not benefited by these false reports. As for Pooja Chauhan, the jury is still out on her whether her case is genuine or if she is mentally unstable.
