  • if you look at the studies that have been done, on the accuracy of analyst reports with regards to price targets, it's no better than just guess work. The only useful stuff is hard data. Analyst reports just rely on other guesses, what the price of this commodity will be in 1 year, what interest rates will be at, etc. It's just a guessing game and more often than not, they get it wrong.

  • btw this guy has left UBS

  • @prodigee411 i agree..but its the nature of the job. analysts cant stay idle on any stock because the trading and sales desk needs the commish. so stories of companies that analysts believes can be made into a trading opportunity would be pushed to the front

  • @JSan898123 oh yeaaaah

  • Banks that are the safest currently RBC (royal Bank Of Canada) and JPM (JP Morgan)

  • hey, i need your opinion, Mr. stock guy. What firm has best looking assess? I think its morgan stanley. what do you think?

  • analysts lol...all you guys are good for is putting bottoms and tops in markets, by getting too optimistic and too pessimistic. This applies to estimates for stocks, economic data, etc.
