Replacing bad capacitor, reattaching transformer, and reassembling speaker cabinet. Before I made this video I had already disassembled the cabinet and removed the circuit board.

  • having a similar problem to @basementlove. the speaker was dropped on the volume knob, it hardly turns now. it appears my amp is broken, as the only sound it will output is a very quiet level (probably just the power from the ipod it's hooked up to)...it doesn't matter what i turn the volume to, it stays on the same low level. all my cables work. thoughts? great vid btw!

  • @rsrhcp iirc when I torn my speaker down the volume knob is a combo knob of a potentiometer and a switch (along with the power lines for the LEDs). I would make the same suggestion to go ahead and take it all the way apart, because you have to remove the hot glue that they used to hold the switch in (and it comes out from the front of the speaker), then replace it with just a potentiometer just to test your theory of it being the volume knob causing the low level :)

  • i have a question for you? my volume knob broke from the inside, do you have any idea how can i fix it, or where to buy a new one? :S

    thanks!

  • @basementlove if I remember correctly the volume knob is just a potentiometer. How exactly is is broken? The crappy thing is you have to remove the knob from the front, but in order to do that you have to open the back, pull everything out, and cut the hot glue that m-audio used to hold the knob in place...
