  • Man I can't believe ppl r still pissy about the way they got there name. I hear it's in Sully's book, but if you watch thier first dvd they tell you in that right after they joke about supposeably stealing it from 'Alice and Chains. But who the Fuck cares. It's not like stealing the name from Chains is what made thier music great DAMN PPL !!!!

  • @Sickness796 And?

Sully started as a drummer for several heavy metal bands in the early 80´s and Shannon was drumming for wrathchild America in 78, long before AIC was around, Sully himself stated on his autobiaography that his influences were bands like Led Zep, Aerosmith and other bands in that genre while shannons influences are based on drummers like John Bonham and Neil Peart... Tony was the only band member that played in a grunge influenced band before signing up with Godsmack

  • @neojimmy721 aic has been around since like 89

  • @JASONJUNKHeD that myth has been cleared up in 2007.... what i would suggest is that you read Sully´s autobiography and see for yourself that most of the band members where already in the music scene long before AIC began their career..... tut tut old news

  • cool stuff I like!!!

please check out our video Gang Bang Hotel chain and post a comment if you like it!

  • @JASONJUNKHeD I have an old Godsmack DVD, and Sully himself that they got the name from an old Alice in Chains song...are they denying it as of recently or what?

  • they weren't an aic cover band. the guitarist was in one. get yo shit right boyee

  • "Godsmack" is also a term such as carma, and when in a studio one member was harassing another about a fever blester, only to show up the following week with one of his on. then told is was "Godsmacking" him back for the prior weeks harassment.

  • I love godsmack! Did you know early on they were an Alice in Chains cover band? This is no shit but they deny it now. They also deny where they got the name of the bane. Godsmack is the name of an AIC song.

  • Correction to correction: It's called "The Oracle", not "Godsmack:Oracle"
