@bzster Regarding Le Mans, the 787b and the big v12's were all to be retired in 1991 due to the rule change on massive engine capacity. However they were allowed to race one last year but bizarrely Mazda managed to negotiated a 180kg weight advantage due to being so uncompetitive. With a detuned engine for reliability it tipped the balance in Mazdas favour. They certainly were not banned for being too good!! lmfao, only the rotary fan boys try to claim that one.

@madgamer2000 Well it looks great, and I bet it sounds pretty mean. I was originally commenting to those individuals who are closed-minded about this brilliant alternative to piston engines. There are many ways up a mountain if the goal is merely to get to the top.

@aij8 how many videos have you pissed people off in?
-
Shame most people are to dumb to figure these out, they are perfect for lightweight race cars, (800kg and lower)
-
@rotor13 Perhaps you can explain why NO ONE uses rotary engines, the RX8 is all but dead and there is no replacement due in the near future if ever. Its dead end technology that will probably never be seen of again....mainly because its shite.
-
@aji8 if the rotary couldnt handle any power, then explain the many many videos floating around of RX7s making 500+hp that have been doing so for 20k+ miles....
or how about the 6 second 2 and 3 rotor drag cars.... or how about my rx7 making 450hp on pump gas, clicking 9 second times at the track every now and then? and still able to make the power it first did almost 50k miles ago?
Oh, and name one engine that doesnt burn oil, because every engine does dumbass.
-
@aji8 ignorant arent we?
rotary cars are always for sale because the owners HAVE NO CLUE and have no mechanical apptitude to even attempt to maintain or fix the car. Just like any neglected car they sell it someone else..... like rusty old muscle cars.
If you maintain them, they will last a hell of a long time.
And they handle plenty of power.
The reason why you rarely see a rotary in your area is because its full of ignorant idiots who only know how to follow a formula.

it has been done before... got $15k for the eccentric shaft?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Mazda win the 24-hour La Mans with a rotary engine before the sanctioning body outlawed the Wankel due to unfair power-to-weight ratio advantage? I'm more of a classic muscle car V8 kind of guy, but these little rotaries appear to be well designed/well thought out engines with approximately a third of the moving parts of a reciprocating engine and hydrogen fuel capabilities. Too bad Mazda isn't continuing production/research and development in the foreseeab

@bzster Late reply, but yeah they did in the 787b race car. This engine is not out of one, but it uses a 4-rotor setup like the one in the race car did (this one was custom built for an rx7 by scoot in japan).
