  • This goes much deeper for Pete Townsend than a mere professing of musical dissonance for LZ, for which, his reasons were not made clear though I think I can provide a theory as to why he dislikes them. Back in the 60's there were teenage gangs rampant in the streets of London, among them were two factions: the Mods and the Rockers. The Who were a Mod band, and Led Zepplin were identified with the Rockers. In fact Quadrophenia is about the politics associated to this rivalry; much blood was shed.

  • I just realized something huge. Jimmy Page's tele has no headstock decal in that video

  • Well this is kinda of tough spot. I love much of the stuff the Who has done but you cannot deny the talent and influence that Led Zeppelin exudes.

Guess I'll have to agree to disagree with Pete Townsend.

  • @THEMASTEROFYOU2000 Yeah? Are you sure of that? People of America think that? Both VH1 and Rolling Stone magazine (American institutions) placed The Rolling Stones ahead of Led Zeppelin on their all time greatest lists, behind only The Beatles, who will always be considered number 1, obviously.

That pretty much invalidates your comment, doesn't it? I'm not saying I find those lists to be perfect, but they definitely show that you are wrong... ;)

    1) BEATLES

    2)THE ROLLING STONES

    3) LED ZEPPELIN

  • lol...guess nobody could accept the fact that he just never liked Zep's music. lol...take about a shame. btw...*whispering*....

he loved Jimi's music. and Jimi got bigger.... :)

the people of America surely claim the Zepplin as much greater music than the who or the stones, here anyways, and always will. Those bands played tributes openly to the social concerns and interests in England, while the Zerp took the entire world on a ride outside of space, time, music itself, into a journey of surrealism, out of body experiences, mysticism and wonder.aside from the zep being masters of their instruments then invented, or took the know to beyond and above. seriously.

the beatles were hardly better musicians, are you serious?..JPJ and Pagey were session musicians beggining in their mid-teens, one may honestly say only lennon and mccartney were even called m8uch more than beginning musicians until they learned their chops playing nonstop in underground bars in germany, why do you think they did that?.so the english wouldn;t hear of them until they could carry a tune at least.

  • Sure they have the vocal power x 10 of the zep, due to naturally occuring harmonies, but they were never even close to being better players, ever.

  • my favorite Zep album is the plagarized one
