@DynaflowDonnie Ouch, I hope you're well now mate and still enjoying rides on your bike. I'm a new rider myself; been riding since last september. I live in Athens, Greece now and things are hectic here to say the least. I never ride without my helmet, and I'm getting other nesessary safety gear bit by bit. Trying to hit the sweet spot between safety, practicality and economy. Can't have a full battle armor on with 40 degrees Celsius.

@DynaflowDonnie cont' Cage pulled out in front of me, I'm going 45 have the right of way, high beam on loud pipes etc, they pull out as I enter the intersection, I grab brakes and feel the front end dive. Its the last thing I remember... Broken ribs, face rash a few teeth etc. Knowing how to fall is great if you have time to plan it all haha.

@MoebiusPan I'd agree, cages don't always give you the time to 'know how to fall' when they pull out in front of you. That old saying might fly somewhere with no traffic, in Phoenix where I live they don't require helmets, but with all the sno-birds and retiree's here you ride with no helmet, expect a faceplant someday. Been there done that after riding with no falls for 25 years till I came here, first time with no helmet and blammo. Rolling through ER with a neck immobilizer.

@CribsnRides I've heard a lot of old bikers say that it's important to "know how to fall" if it cannot be avoided. But it seems to me, while knowing not to land anywhere with your face is important, the luck factor is pretty dominant in a fall. Couple that with the almost irreversible nature of head injuries, and we've got a helmet recipe in our hands.

hahaha so you ride a Versys my videos are: kawasaki versys leo wheelie and kawasaki versys cornering-LEO ! :)

@ed301 yes, my bad. I own a er6n, that is basically the same bike, and its really fun for wheelies. cheers
-
@buretdehi I know, I own one :) I call it the V as in short for Versys
-
@dxh24 my bad
-
@buretdehi When he says V he means Versys not V-twin, That's what alot of Versys owners call it-the V
-
@ed301 its not a V, its a twin parallel
@boysinblack very true he does know better, therefor personally i think he should be allowed this one slip up. anyways he's a pro DONT TRY THIS AT HOME!

You know, he hasn't been on a bike for a couple of days and didn't have gear with him. Oddly I was really concerned about it but standing there---watching him ride--I had no fear in my heart. He just has so much control I forgot he wasn't wearing one! That said: Helmet = Good.
