The accent is basically north west England - Lancashire, Cheshire. But Liverpool is a seaport with regular traffic to and from Dublin for centuries, so there are similarities with Dublin speech, though not much with the rest of Ireland. There is also a strong Welsh input, with Liverpool being close to North Wales. It's a very polyglot city. Irish is one element, but it isn't dominant.
He has an amazing job interviewing these two and what does he do? hes interviewing them like hes eager to rush it like he wants to get home or something making mistakes and its uncomfortable for real fans of these two and the beatles to watch !!
This is the way Larry interviews everyone. It's like a car crash. You can't help but look, even though a big part of you wants to look away. And it never fails. Any time the subject of the interview starts to say something really interesting, that's when Larry interrupts.
@bookkeeper57 Scouse sounds nothing like an Irish accent (which varies by region, just like English accents). You're basing your arguement on pure fantasy, basically attributing everyone who is a Liverpudlian to Irish ancestry, which is ridiculous!
