Okay . . . a lot going on here on multiple levels. It's difficult to balance them all to suit everyone equally well.
So what imbalances might it be worthwhile to be aware of?
Maybe this: you don't have to be depressed to pursue Buddhist practise.
Nevertheless . . . practise has a social component and that's a numbers game: it may be that a particular group has a disproportion of depression-oriented practitioners.
You need to be aware of that . . . and see if it suits you.

A wonderful illuminating clip,..however... Cohens teachers' name is: Joshu Sasaki Roshi. "Roshi" being an unofficial honorific term meaning Zenmaster. "Zenmaster Roshi" is redundant

The film by Armelle Brusq is made in 1997 and is called Mount Baldy. Armelle is a young French artist living in Paris. She filmed this 52 min documentary in Spring 1996 on Mt. Baldy and in Los Angeles using a customized camera.
