Nasa has released spectacular images of the solar flare that is due to strike the Earth this week, causing brilliant auroras.
The sun shows a bit of flare: Stunning image shows explosion so powerful it may damage electrical grids on Earth- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1357896/Sun-releases-X-flare-P...
We're still alive.

what would it be like if we got a direct hit.. i would be bumbed out if all electricity was nocked out yet if im still alive and unharmed i wouldnt care in the long run.

Living matter is electromagnetic fields and atoms. These eruptions probably have many unknown affects on us, physical and psychological. But that would technically be called astrology right? And noone believes in such 'nonsense' ... right?

considering your brain and body functions on tiny electric flashes and "circuits' yh enough of those particles cld have a slow long term effect. just i thought or enoough could just possibly stop ur heart since it function of of electronic pulses

the problem isn't only the grid...we are taking about electronics and everything we rely on today uses them. hope you know how to survive off the grid and away from people.

they are made of particles that are not harmful to man but devastates electric and technological related things which is all signals .we would become dead in the water stopping for a time which is hard to figure...depending on severity of burst

@lordaapjes It's possible that a solar flare could have wiped out the dinosaurs if it happened during a pole switch on earth. During a pole switch the earths magnetosphere would be somewhat disabled. High levels of radiation found on the bones of dinosaurs of that time period. And the amount of new species after suggests rapid mutations. Nothing is more capable of causing genetic mutation than radiation.
