The Melt! Festival and Ferropolis have successfully reduced their carbon footprint with their M!Eco initiative by organising a Melt! hotel train for 600 participants from Cologne last year. This year, they have installed solar panels on the festival site producing more electricity than used by the festival itself. These are only the prominent measures amongst many others, and: this is just the start. 80 selected high-ranking representatives from music, politics, science, media and environmental associations discussed at the Green Melt! Dinner how innovative approaches in the music industry can lead to concrete results in the reduction of carbon emissions, what potential such a strategy has and how it can be implemented.
