@vk893 Combat sports are a preference & real fight fans should appreciate the beauty in both. Machida is a very illusive fighter, you would probably enjoy his fights. Anderson Silva without question... I watch the boxing PPV's but I'll watch any MMA fight because I have extensive knowledge of grappling. Once you understand what they are doing its more enjoyable just like any sport. There is no excuse for lay & pray in MMA though, that's as disappointing to watch as a Klitschko bout.

@Immortalsyn83 Exactly. Mma is more dangerous, but i think boxing is more exciting to watch and as a combat sport, mma doesn't have many defensive options. I don't know, every mma fight i watch i don't see a master of defense, untouchable like Mayweather Jr, or Ali, and for me it's kinda boring as a sport. Well, thats my opinion.

@vk893 Yes, that's because engagement distances are a bigger factor in full body combat. MMA fighters have more to worry about so they can't let their hands fly so freely without possible repercussions such as being taken down; clinched; kicked; kneed or elbowed.

@TheARguy1 Perhaps in America, however pankration was a beloved combat sport for over 1000 years. The idea of fighting in full body combat is centuries old & the rise of MMA has little to nothing to do with boxing's current status. I enjoy both sports as a fight fan but MMA IMO is generally more interesting since it's all styles of fighting.

if u notice all the boxing tapes are old because boxing is dead. I honestly dont like ufc that much because the fighters have poor technique, but boxing is way to limited, UFC is the closes thing u get to street fighting, however the best thing is pure street fighting no rules.

@amirjitsu yah, but boxing was the 1st combat sport that was really popular, and while i love MMA, MMA fans have to respect boxing, because withoute boxing going through all of the needed changes, requirements, etc., MMA couldn't survive, period. So FUCK U U STUPID FUCK AND STOP TRYING TO MAKE US LOOK BAD!!

@presario126 Zuffa is one of the best promotional companies in combat sports however if an organization is representing themselves as a major component of a sport, it in know way can be greater than the entirety of what the organization is representing. The sport needs a powerhouse promotional company to bring awareness to the sport & fighters. Having the best talent allows the organization to promote the fights fans want to see otherwise it could take years to get a decent fight.
