6 Flags demo june 09

I joined a little group of dedicated local activists, led by IDA (In Defense of Animals) in front of 6 Flags "Discovery Kingdom" in California today to help educate visitors about how wrong it is to keep elephants and other wildlife at a them park packed with roller coasters and other loud rides. 6 Flags is aware of the cruelty involved in keeping these wonderful animals in tiny cages in the middle of a noisy, crowded theme park, and continues to exploit them for money. Please, do NOT go there or any other 6 Flags until they stop exploiting animals for money. Thank you.

I'm trying to add a controversy section to the Wikipedia article for Six Flags, but Wikipedia doesn't except new info unless it's from a reliable source. I'm sure I can find plenty of sources for the elephant stuff, but what can I use as a source for the fennec foxes and flamingos being by rides and the thing you said about the Six Flags giraffes and the lions and tigers? Also maybe the thing about the eagle's wing.

Sam, I commend you for trying to add that info to the 6 Flags Wikipedia article. Unfortunately I don't know what other sources you can use, unless you ask 6 Flags themselves those questions. They should tell you how far the animals are kept from the rides, etc. After all, it's no secret-- any visitor can bring a tape measure and see for themself.

You might also try IDA (In Defense of Animals) which has probably the best info on ^ Flags' terrible animal welfare record. Good luck!
