The conflict in Georgia's breakaway region of South Ossetia has prompted the U.S. Presidential candidates to respond. Both Barack Obama and John McCain have had their say on the crisis in a bid to persuade voters of the strength of their foreign policy.

American "news" says big bully Russia invaded poor little Georgia, when the truth is that Georgia invaded South Ossetia which has been independent of Georgia for 15 years.

95% of the casualties in South Ossetia were civilian. Most South Ossetians are Russian.

Russia had to act to stop Georgians from murdering innocent people in South Ossetia.

I also believe that Georgia started the conflict. A realy bad decision. However I do not believe this is about a free South Ossetia, It is about an expansion of Russia.

In our history part of the US wanted to split off. We know how that went.

At least, we can engage with Russia and that tyrant, Saakashvili, the current president of Georgia. Also, the EU should recognize South Ossetia's independence from Georgia. It European nations can "recognize" Kosovo independence - then the same for South Ossetia!
