I hope you like it..I was looking through pictures of Dad that I had in a box and thought it might be nice to share him with you a bit that way with my song i wrote for him. it is my attempt at a slide show. I envy all you directors. But please enjoy and meet my Dad. In loving memory of "BIG AL"~ aka: "Second Hand AL" ~ Allan Lawrence Sochasky born May 19th, 1936 in Vanouver British Columbia. He was Canadian Air Force Auxilliary, Iron worker for The Second Narrows Bridge(later renamed as The Iron Workers Memorial Bridge)He was a Ski Instructer at Hollyburn Mountain before there were chairlifts(when you had to climb if you want to ski down)We belonged to the Seymour Mountaineering club and at the age of 14 was one of two climbers that knew the rout and guided tours up to The twin Peaks(later renamed The Lions)He won the The 500 Modified motorcycle race on his 350cc Manx 2-sroke(FAST!!!)on Aug 6th,1957 at Vancouvers Hastings Raceway. Attended Univercity of British Columbia and later married my mom and took over my Granfather's Hand Bookbinding Business called Art Book Binder(Specialized in music books that stayed open.and hand leather book work and binding/sewing. A lover of life, nature and the realist and one hell of an extremist(laughed from his belly and looked for the "real folks" in life. The song i wrote is all true stories.I will miss my best friend but love sharing him with you.He passed away in his sleep peacefully March 05,2009 Halloween was his favorite time of the year so i though it fitting to post him tonight. Happy Halloween 2009 to all. He would say...."BOO! Thank you kindly for your time"~ (hug)) RIP Daddio!~ALL MY LOVE "Pumpkin" xxxxxxx

  • A fabulous celebration Lisa. An excellent idea.

I loved the song, and the pictures, and the two of them together were just fabulous.

It didn't come across as a sad song, it came across as a happy song celebrating Big Al's life.
