@peglegkangaroo That's one of those things that sounds great on paper but doesn't really work that well in reality. Unless you really load down your bread, it will rocket out when the toaster pops.

Surely you'd need a toaster that can fit 2 slices (and more) into one slot. I'm not sure about the US but in the UK we don't have that...

@TehEzkimo In most top-loading toasters, when you push the button down there are metal gates that hold the bread in place. These are usually spring loaded and serve no function other than holding bread in place. When you put in two slices, they simply don't come out all the way.
