  • Does metering matter if you shoot in manual? It seems to not me anything if you're just gonna do everything by eye.

  • @MobiusCoin the metering still is useful in manual, you can estimate your exposure with the metering

  • So, how do you actually meter an area? I know you'd probably use the center-weighted or spot metering, but say you wanted to meter just for a white dress, like a bride's dress; how would you meter for it?

  • @klakfi spot meter it

  • so, the metering system does not have any functions when you are using the manual mode then????

  • @iqbal0610 yes it does, manual just gives you the option to choose between the different kinds/

  • that is important for landscape photography especially when it comes to film, but I find it a waste of time with digital, it is much quicker to use full metering, also this review is not for landscape photography but all forms of digital photography and it is for beginners. Just because I don't do something your way or any other persons way doesn't mean I have a lot to learn. What matters is what works for me not what works for others.

  • no, I made this review to help people who dont know where to start when it comes to metering. If you dont agree that is fine, I just want to let people know what works for me in the hopes that it will work for them too. And anyway this review is more about the function of metering not what just works for me.

As always, you are doing a very fine job of explaining both Nikon Settings and ways in which to take various photos. Keep up the very fine work young man.
