I have created this time-lapse video showing a day in the life of the famous Geyser known as Old Faithful.

This is located in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, U.S.A.

The footage was taken on Tuesday September 25th 2007, if you were there on that day then you will be in this video at some point.

See if you can spot yourself, if you can leave a comment with timecode.

The video is made from a total of 2063 images from the Old Faithful webcam, starting at 06:36am through to 07:55, this was the range of daylight hours on Tuesday 25th September.

During this period it can be seen erupting at (local times) 7.28, 8.58, 10.14, 11.39, 13.07, 14.42, 16.07, 17.35, 19.04.

Its a very strange place thats well worth visiting. The whole area here is covered with wooded walkways as you could fall through the crust into hot waters. The best time to go is just after the snows are melting as the waterfalls around here are great. The last time I was here was back in 1993 when I took video at Grand Tetons here :

Software used : Google Earth, Fraps, Goldwave, Sony Vegas, Paint Shop Pro X ,Custom PSP Batch Process scripts, Custom HTML javascript page.

Let me know if you enjoyed it.

Thanks
Andy

  • Loved it.

I was playing around with creating a time laps with the livecam today. It was a dark cloudy day today so not a good time. Did you right click and save each image then create the movie? If so thanks for taking all day to create this. Did you find an automated way to capture the photos?

  • @Pathfinder767 Cheers, Oh no that would be very time consuming. I used some software to automatically save the image at a regular interval. I think I used HyperCam or HyperSnap and then made the movie from the files.

  • alsome timelaps thanks

  • @clydeburkey Cheers.
