Along with Tutu D'Vyne, PlayBack's other featured vocalist is Mr. Johnny Soul. An Augusta legend, "Soul" was a popular performer during his younger years throughout the Pine State.
He was a fan favorite in the '60s throughout the Macon circuit and was recruited to play some dates to fill the void, following the untimely death of legendary crooner, Otis Redding. Johnny Soul remains a crowd-pleaser, as confirmed in this video at The Surrey Tavern during Masters Week 2009. His raw-soulful vocalese is unmatched and appeals to enthusiasts eager to hear the rich qualities that defined such Georgia soulmen as James Brown, Otis Redding, LIttle Richard Penniman and Ray Charles. Johnny Soul reflects the legacy created by these Rock 'N Roll Hall of Famers.
