@fknnewz It's a shame the one I volunteered at was rigidly controlled by a central office which in turn relied on state taxation. That's not charity it's just more government bureaucracy. I protested this to no avail.

I don't know why the churches in the group put up with that nonsense, that's not how they used to work back in the day. It was an open door policy with no personal interrogation. Direct donations straight to the shelter at the local church. Volunteers not paid directors.
