The 55th Flotilla - Leave Her Johnny (Instrumental)

Our first experiment into generative audio/visual performance. Everything in the clip is generated live, the visuals in Quartz Composer are reacting to MIDI signals sent over a wireless network from Ableton Live. All fairly tricky to set up, but it works quite well.
Apologies for the sound quality, lack of cables etc. But then again, I don't really want to give youtube the rights to the nice audio do I?

I ended up using two separate macs to achieve this video at the time because it was a bit processor intensive to do the audio and video on one machine (I'm sure my shiny dual core MacBook Pro will keep up now though ;) )

I can't remember exactly how I did the midi but I'll have a look into it and post some sort of guide/tutorial.

you have to set up you your midi devices in the OSX Midi configurator first. In Quartz use the MidiIN patch and of course you can configure it.

Hi! i'm trying to make something with QC too but I'm not able to set up the midi configuration. I think that QC can receive midi signal from my midikeyboard or from another music softwares but how!??! I'm going crazy!!! THERE ARE NO MIDI CONFIGURATION ON QC!! I can't believe it! Did you sent the signals from abletonlive by another computer or by the same one which generates the visual part!?! Can you help me please...?
