It's not an Twinspark. Twinspark means in Alfa-language that each cylinder got 2 sparkplugs. Nice Alfa though.

I think the airsocks on the carbs should give a clue to the amount of cylinders...!!!

The Alfa V8 was fitted to the Montreal only all other Alfa's either V6 or 4cylinders.

Twinspark is a Twincam with 2 sparkplugs per cylinder so 8 in total, first productioncar to have Variable valve timing (Honda copied using Vtec system), and also has variable inlet, produces 155bhp from 2.0ltrs doesn't sound much on paper today but drive one and see why so many Alfa owners are so passionate about the Italian brand..Forza Alfa Italia

Ex GP Ferrari engineer Busso designed and built this arese V6 alfa engine, its

a masterpiece a modern icon, and the noise is pure ferrari exotica but not at an

exotic price..

Enzo Ferrari started his career at Alfa Romeo in the 1930's so engineers like

Busso, Columbo, Lampredi went  from Ferrari to Alfa Romeo etc.

This Busso V6 engine is a legend..

Actually It can, Alfa 164 was sold in NL in version called Savali (you can google it but it's not much about it ). The engine was 3.5 (about 280 Hp) it was bored from 3.0 by dealer Sam van Lingen. So it's possible that this car has 3.5 24v from 164 savali.
