Orange County, CA: at Los Caballeros Raquet and Sports Club, in Fountain Valley, CA.
20 month old Tam, who learned this Smart Fish skill of rolling over to back float in the event that she accidentally falls into any body of water... is seen passing her Survival Test in an unfamiliar, colder pool.
She learned this skill in less than 20 lessons in the club's other 90 degree pools. We were pleased to see that colder water didn't make a difference for her.
Tam will be demonstrating her skill on KTLA's Morning Show on May 15, between 7:40 and 10 AM.
She will be doing this same test - LIVE....

  • Thank you for your comment.

They eventually ALL love to float, once they see the value to it....

It's not unusual for the babies to resist it.

It's more of a discipline, than a skill. It's not difficult. All they have to do is lie down and lie still.

  • @Imgradingpapers the kids are meant to learn how to survive. if they fall in a pool alone..the water filling their lungs wont be doing so with a smile :p

  • @merkatroid Your unwarranted anger is quite amusing, thanks for the laugh!

  • @RachelandRyder. If only all the kids that have fallen into swimming pools had taken your advice. You have solved childhood drownings! You are a genius. I sense a Nobel peace prize coming your direction very soon.

  • @Imgradingpapers...maybe the kid should drown instead. Go grade some papers you idiot.

  • This disgusting lady is taking pleasure in this. I'm really sickened by her flippant attitude, laughing at that poor baby. Throwing & pushing her under water - clearly she's too terrified to protest. This should be illegal. This b**** evidently gets her jollies from manhandling little kids. SHAME ON YOU!

  • Wow. How about a freaking life jacket & some parental supervision. I don't foresee my todder taking any solo trips to the beach or pool anytime soon, so what's the point? Wow, just wow.

  • my son is 20 months old- he loves the water but I never tried any of this when he was younger, because I just didn't know about it. Now I wish I had worked with him more in the water. Oh well. Maybe this summer he'll swim.
