Thomasville Georgia honors Blake McLendon with Flag Tribute

Senior Chief David Blake McLendon was defending his country aboard a military helicopter in rugged southern Afghanistan when the aircraft crashed, killing the 1998 Thomas County Central High School graduate and eight others. On Friday October 1, 2010, Thomasville turned out by the thousands to pay tribute to a hometown hero. Flags lined the funeral route from start to finish as Thomasville truly showed the heart of our community. Thomasville this truly may have been our finest hour.
