Later on in the series during Seths betrayal of the pirates when the pirate leader attacks Zoey uses Max for leverage and then they to cling to eachother when they get rammed. Thought they can't really be called hints its interesting how the makers chose those to and not rex or anyone else. As for the end with Rex going to his own time it nearly impossible for zoey and rex to get together, With recent season hints its reasonable to assume that Max and Zoey will get together.

3. Zoey only got jealous when Zara kissed Max on lips but not Rex. But She was surprised (and Max) when Rex a thank you kiss of Zara on the cheek but that was all. Other than making about Rex acting weird cause of the sun and getting annoyed at Rex for almost forgetting about her and max cause of the princess. despite them being equal danger. While when it came to Zara and max, Zoey quickly became upset about seeing them kiss and lashing out at Max and rex there after until they save the city.

Max obviously get flustered and panics and it never happens (Zoey Makes the kiss seem like no big deal which in a way it isn't) Zoey is bit red in face and looks pretty happy that Max is bothered by Jims crush on her. Now here is a question for those who disagree, 1. Even if a kiss is no big deal why would she be blushing even a bit. 2. Also Zoey teased Max about his question just before the kiss attempt which girls and boys of there often do.

My opinion on Zoey & Max is this, They both like each other and both Zoey and Max get jealous when they think other is interested in opposite gender. Max who was jealous of Jim (which Zoey had no Interest in romantically -poor jim-) and Zoey with Zara. Max isn't has emotionally ready to really comprehend his feelings for Zoey thats why it took Jim open affections on Zoey to draw out Max feelings for Zoey. Even asking Zoey about Jim which Zoey tactfully tried get kiss out of Max.

Zoey then remarks that Max is the same which Max retorts that Zoey is Jealous 'they' like the Princess (Which Max who usually got the love comparably to rock picked up on) Xander then comments how he always thought Rex crush Zoey who is understandably embarrassed at the comment and denies it. (I know Rex and Zoey would consider this a hint but most girl would react that way to a comment like that when it someone there close to. But could still be a hint depending on how you look at it.

Max has got small crush on the princess doesn't infatuated like Rex has who ironically easily becomes jealous when ever he sees another with the princess and has all but forgotten about his crush on Zoey. Once they meet up with Aladdin and Alpha team, Rex becomes over protective of Zara refuses the help of Aladdin on the grounds he can't be trusted. Max who knows just how infatuated Rex is complains about Rex thinks Aladdin is moving in on the princess and thats why he doesn't want his help.
