the reason the dell started up quicker is becos the dell has an ssd but the macbook has an hdd and ssd's are considerably faster than hdd's so this isnt a very fair contest!
macbook air is so stupid, netbooks are better. its like the difference between a sheet of paper and a deck of playing cards, paper is this but so what, u would need a large folder
boot time has nothing to do with real-world performance, and you for sure cant judge how much a computer sucks by how fast it boots. hell, even my 8-year-old iMac G4 boots faster than my brand new macbook pro! you think the iMac is going to be faster when its actually working? "think before you speak." --some guy that was right.
